Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Chinese Tips (中文通). By using the app you agree to them.

Third-party data

The 汉字 tab’s character dictionary (readings, meanings, radicals and stroke counts) is derived from Make Me a Hanzi (dictionary.txt, GNU LGPL 3.0, itself built from the Unicode Unihan database and CJKlib). Stroke shapes for writing practice come from the Hanzi Writer project’s data, derived from Arphic Technology’s KaitiM and UKai fonts under the Arphic Public License. Neither is affiliated with this app.

The service

A Chinese-learning game. Everything in it is free; where it shows ads, the full version, bought once, removes them. We may add, revise or reorganize learning content as the catalog grows.

The full version

• US$9.99, paid once when you buy it. In the Android app, Google Play shows the price in your currency, and in the iPhone app, the App Store does.
• It removes the ads, on every device where you sign in. It does not expire and nothing renews. Bought in the Android app, it is also subject to Google Play's terms.
• Bought on the web or in the Android app, it is refunded in full if you ask within 7 days of buying it, once per account; see the Refund Policy. Bought in the iPhone app, refunds are Apple's: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Buying on the web from the EU, the EEA or the UK, you ask at checkout for the full version to unlock at once and agree that you lose your 14-day right to cancel once it unlocks; we confirm this by email. The 7-day refund still applies.
• A subscription bought before 7 October 2026 renews at the end of each period until you stop it on the app's 我的 (Me) page, or by emailing support@latticelogic.app; access continues to the end of the paid period. One bought through Google Play is stopped in Google Play.
• Refunds are handled per the Refund Policy.

Fair use

The app is licensed to you personally, for learning. Reselling access, scraping content, or interfering with the service is not permitted.

Content

Lessons, sentences, artwork and audio arrangements are ours or licensed to us. Your progress is yours.

Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Singapore, and disputes go to the courts of Singapore. Claims are brought individually, not as part of a class action.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date below reflects the current version. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
